A while back I reserved a blog with the intent that I would offer to all those who loved the original
Victoria magazine the chance to share a story about their
Victoria experience. It has been quite a full fall and winter with first one thing and then another (my latest diversion has been a severe case of bronchitis which developed on the heels of my January surgery.) But I have spent this last week working on the new blog, designing a header and layout for the pages, and writing my own
Victoria story. So now it is done, and I wanted to share
Remembering Victoria with those of you who might have an interest or might know someone else with an interest.
Please click on the picture below to go to the new Remembering Victoria blog.
If you would like to share your story with me and would allow me to share it on the new blog, please send an e-mail to me
here. Also for those who are willing, would you pass the word on your own blog that I am looking for stories? It would be much appreciated. And feel free to use the picture above. I am interested in hearing from as many as want to share their stories.
Thanks!!
You are BRILLIANT, Christi! I'll be right over. ;)
ReplyDeleteI'm delighted!! Nothing, nothing compares to Nancy Lindemeyer's original Victoria magazine.
ReplyDeleteI was smitten from the very first copy I found that day as I browsed for something wonderful to read.
I'd love to share a posting of my experiences with Victoria on your new blog.
Did you know that Nancy Lindemeyer now has her own blog.... and it's such a joy to follow her in her current world of beauty and grace.
Here's the link, in case you haven't seen it yet....

ReplyDeleteI will blog about this for you.So more people can find it.:)
ReplyDeleteThank you for the lovely comment that you left on my blog:) Today was one of those days where I needed some cheerful encouragment!
ReplyDeleteOh, the old Victoria magazine...it was the first magazine that I ever bought that encouraged a woman to enjoy being a lady, where tea was served and beauty could be made everyday! I used my old copies (who knew they would no longer be made!) to make lots of lovely decoupage treasures....The new ones are ok, but the old ones make me remember when I was younger and happy to have found kindred spirits that enjoyed femininity.
I just visited your site, where your artwork is.Awesomelovely paintings.I adore the one Peace with the dove.I love anything birds.Best of Luck to you Christi!
ReplyDeletethis is such a great idea.
ReplyDeleteam looking forward to the stories.

What a privilege spending time browsing through your beautiful blog with such wonderful creativity :)
ReplyDeleteAunt Amelia's Attic sent me here and I'm excited to hear all the stories. I use to get the Victoria magazines and felt sad when they stopped them.. So glad you're doing this. I'll be back to see what's next!

ReplyDeleteI'd keel over if I had $100 to spend, too. ;> It's $60. They want me to have my hair cut and permed. That made me giggle as there's not enough for that. Are you one of those with "recession hair" too? Gosh there are a lot of us. I think that I'll just have it trimmed because I really don't have the funds to keep up with it these days; a short haircut requires constant upkeep. Mother and Sis told me in no uncertain terms how unattractive hair this length is on an older woman. I look both "old" and "tired." Gee, I AM both old and tired. ;D
Hope that you're enjoying a great weekend. The ice dancing should be lots better tonight!
Looking forward to reading your new blog, Christi, as the original Victoria magazine has been my all-time favorite!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Zuzu
Sorry you have been unwell Christie and hope you are now recovered.
ReplyDeleteDon't think yu will want my story that is on my blog as it is 24 chapters long!
Christi...you asked about good English mysteries, and I'm drawing a blank (not odd at all!), but wondered if you've read anything by D. E. Stevenson. She doesn't write mysteries, but her books are very English. :) Her book called 'Miss Buncle' is a delight. I highly recommend it.
ReplyDeleteOh, Christi, found some mysteries for you (sorry I'm writing you here, but don't seem to have your email!)
ReplyDeleteI think I know what city you're in, and looked in the library there on their website (so cool) and found them available. The author is Mollie Hardwick and she writes great cozy-style mysteries.
Have fun!
